I have been taking my toddler to Cookie Cutters for 6+ months. He generally does not enjoy haircuts, will often resist and become tearful. We have had some successes in the past with different stylists and approaches. Unfortunately our experience today was by far the worst one we have had. We arrived early to allow more time only to find the front door locked. Once inside, we were rushed into a chair to start the cut. My son resisted and I physically had to redirect him. I reminded my son multiple times to keep his mask on, helping pull it over his nose and mouth. However, at one point, the stylist told my son she would stop the haircut if he couldn’t keep his mask on, and expressed frustration that he was tearful and crying. This stylist proceeded to physically put his mask over his face while he was sitting in my lap, which made my son even more upset. Ultimately the stylist shared she had spent too much time with my son and this was going to make her behind schedule for her next appointment. We ended the cut and my son calmed down enough to play on the playground. While paying, I learned that our stylist did not have an appointment following my son and she actually had a break in her schedule. Overall, I felt the experience was disrespectful and not something a young child should have to endure, especially at a hair salon specializing in kids cuts.

I would recommend this place because I’ve been multiple time but I would never schedule with Denise again for my child

We have been taking our daughter to cookie cutters for the last year and have loved it. Tonight we had the worst experience and we won't be back! The lady cut her bangs way to short and they are CROOKED! She also cut a few TINY and I mean small spots on the sides of our daughter's hair and we were charged for a full cut! SHES NOT EVEN 2 AND HAS A SHORT THIN NATURAL BOB THAT DOESNT EVEN TOUCH HER SHOULDERS!! The woman didn't ask if we wanted it trimmed or even say it would be another $10 added to the bang trim I had signed up for!! Never again will we go or recommend anyone to CC.

I feel so bad for my son with the haircut he received today. It's nothing like I expected it would be and looks butchered and uneven in so many areas. It had some kind of gel in it and didn't realize how bad it was till we left. We had taekwondo tonight and many of my friends commented on how his hair looked and not in a positive way.

Not sure why we didn’t have a race car or plane this time. Our son did not have a good experience and our expectations were not met. Last time we came it was much better.

It seems once in awhile we have stylists/barbers who do not seem to be good with children. Particularly talking to them while they are getting their hair cut. It's important to reassure and talk to children. I only patronize Cookie Cutters because you are suppose to be better with children in this setting than adult salons. I left White Marsh location because they never seem to have any hot water for shampooing, but since the pandemic we are no longer interested in shampooing and just want a good cut. Sometimes we are placed with new stylists that are not very good with children and then others that are. Not so with this last experience. Good cut but not so good with helping Chris feel comfortable and talking him through the process. Surprised that the price had increased and not sure how we are put with someone who asked if we are new customers since we have patronized the business for the last 2 years. After this experience we will not be returning.
