My 3 year old son has sensory needs and haircuts to him mean "Oh no, I'm being tortured send help!" Autistic children and/or children with sensory needs can come across as a headache to some and I've always worried that this would mean he wouldn't want to be tended to by a hairstylist or it would seem too much of a chore to work with him or worse. I have to say, I am THRILLED we found Traci. We've had other stylists work with him before at Cookie Cutters and they've been great, friendly and willing to work with him but Traci has an air of welcoming and happiness that helped put me and my husband at ease which is such a HUGE thing people don't consider when all you're thinking as a parent is, "please be understanding, PLEASE be understanding." Even as my son cried and showed his immense discomfort at having his head and hair touched, she was persistent and loving, trying constantly to ease his distress and find ways to work with him while still managing to help us feel like this was ok, she was not annoyed, upset, nor she was not bothered by what felt like a battle just to cut his hair. I will always recommend Cookie Cutters by Boise Town Square Mall for any haircuts for children (and adults actually as my husband had his hair cut there as well and loved it). Ask for or schedule with Traci! She's just awesome!
