This is the only place I've taken my son for his haircut and all our previous visits have been great. This time was different though. My son has very kinky african-american hair so he's always gotten the same haircut, a close shave using the electric clippers. I asked for the same cut as usual. The stylist asked a couple questions to clarify what I wanted and then she started the cut using the clippers. After shaving 2 or 3 small clumps of hair off the back of his head, the stylist said she needed to comb out his hair. This surprised me because none of the stylists before had done this but I didn't say anything as haircutting is not my field. She began combing out his hair using a small tooth comb but after a few minutes, my son was crying because his hair was being pulled from the combing. The stylist said his hair needed to be combed out or the clippers would pull his hair more. I was at a loss as to what to do so I asked the stylist to do what she could so the shaved hair in the back wasn't noticeable. She tried combing out more hair on the sides of his head and trimmed the edges but he ended up looking like he has a bowl cut from the 80s, with uneven sides and the shaved spot in the back still noticeable (a family member commented on these without me saying anything). The amount of work done (combing and cutting) would barely amount to the cost of a trim but I was still charged full price for a cut that was far below my expectations and satisfaction.
