The stylist was extremely rude when I walked in without an appointment, she cut my sons hair very fast and the quality is in even and very bad. I’m normally not one to complain about haircuts but for $20 this was ridiculous.

Asked her to do a trim and bang cut, she didn’t trim her hair at all and barely cut bangs, took her 4 min and charged $21.

We have been coming to Cookie Cutters for very long because my son won't go anywhere else. They have the note how to cut his hair, they know him. I was working and sent my husband with him. He came back his hair looking terrible, the top not blended at all, sticking out of his head :((

I have been to the meridian location many times and they are fantastic. They are a little out of the way so today I tried the Boise location. Never again! My child is autistic and has sensory issues. Hair cuts are a huge trigger which I explained to her at the start. We struggled through his hair cut. I asked for her to trim up the back of his neck. She wasn't pleased with doing this and explained that with his movement I would had to hold him tighter. At this point he had calmed most of the way down. After I had paid her and tip more than 20% she had the nerve to tell me that I should really try to get there on time. I was two minutes late and she was still cleaning up from the client before when I walked in. And that they only do a 15 minute appointment so I should call and notify them that they will need longer time. Mind you there was no one waiting and took 8 extra minutes!!! For a kid hair cut place they should not discriminate against children with special needs! If they want to be notified of needing extra time then they should maybe add that to their online booking! All kids are unpredictable especially toddlers! So not right and shame on that stylist!

For years, my sister would gush about how much she and my nephews loved to go to Cookie Cutters. With such positive word of mouth, my wife and I were looking forward to our son’s first haircut and we were extremely disappointed with our experience at Cookie Cutters. We explained what we wanted, which was to trim the back of his head, over the ears, and lighten the top of his head/forehead but keep some length. Our stylist said ok, and that she'd even his hair out to start and then we could decide where to go from there. She then proceeded to cut it much much shorter than we wanted. Not only that, but the back was very uneven and around the ears were both uneven and had missed spots. Our kid was understandably squirmy, but when we asked if we could help early on, our stylist said no. About 5 minutes into the haircut, we took the initiative and held his head which helped. And then there were several small things which we would have overlooked had the overall experience been better. Our stylist was not very friendly throughout the experience, there was no wet down of his hair, which is supposed to be included, and our "certificate" was cut/trimmed comically uneven - which again would not usually matter but it is the only reason we chose to get the 1st Cut package over the regular KidsCut. And, which we would've happily ignored if we had gotten a decent haircut. Luckily his hair will grow and this is just a minor inconvenience, but it was just a very disappointing experience, memorable in the wrong way, and we have no desire to return for future haircuts.

I took my toddler in to get a trim. Last time we went it was a great experience. This time the hairdresser did not interact at all with my child she hardly even talked to him. She seemed very annoyed at my kid and kept heavy sighing because he was moving, as kids do. I understand it’s a difficult job, that is why I’m willing to pay 20 dollars for someone else to do it. I figured the point of a kids salon is that the hairdressers are equipped to handle kids, but that didn’t seem to be the case this time. $20 is a lot to spend for my son to look the exact same after. The lady running the desk was great though. She was friendly and knew how to talk to children.
