Might be helpful to have more than one "regular" salon chair, so that a parent might have the opportunity, if needed, to place child on lap for haircut, particularly if the child is having a tough time sitting on their own on one of the novelty seats. My son was using the regular chair when a scared toddler came in for a haircut, so there was no other place for him to sit or for his mom to potentially have him on her lap.
