We have been before and I had been impressed with the set-up. My son was happy to watch TV and enjoyed receiving a lollipop and balloon afterwards. He looked forward to the experience and was cooperative. The hairdressers we've had in the past have been professional and really good working with the kids. However, this time, that was not the case. We waited 25 minutes past our appointment time only to be told by Maria that she still had one other person in front of us and we would need to keep waiting. When I informed her we were unable to do that as I needed to pick my other child up from daycare, she asked her colleague to take us instead. When we were finally taken, a solid 35 minutes after our appointment time, the hairdresser was rude. My son at this point was getting restless and had more anxiety this trip than others as many other kids had been crying and acting up while we had been waiting. Instead of being calm and patient, the hairdresser kept snapping at him not to cry, threatening not to give him a lollipop or balloon afterward, and telling him to stop faking it. At first I thought she was joking and went along with it, but she continued to make snide comments and berate him throughout the entire haircut. She was absolutely horrible and after our experience with her are questioning ever coming back. I hope it was just an off day, but that is still no excuse to take your frustrations or exhaustion out on my child. I had never seen this hairdresser when we had visited previously and do not know if she was new, but she needs a significant retraining/attitude adjustment for the future.
