I took my two daughters who are 6 and 8. While they are "older" for cookie cutters, both girls had to stand while getting their hair cuts. The stylist said their hair was too long for her to cut if they were sitting, as she would have to bend down. Don't the chairs raise? If so, it didn't seem like she tried that. It was very odd and definitely not comfortable for my kids! I haven't seen this stylist there before so imagine she is new, but definitely not going to keep clients that way! We have been coming to cookie cutters since my girls had their first cuts, so it's been a while, but we won't be returning.

The store is a bit outdated, seemed grungy, and overall way too overstimulating for my child and myself. It was a stressful experience and we won't be back.

Sadly disappointed with my 2 year old sons experience yesterday. As he sat in the chair I was asked if he was a boy or girl. I’m not offended by the question as he had very long curly hair but after I responded that he was a boy the stylist stated he looked like a girl more than once. I asked for the hair to be trimmed out of his face and to neatly clean up the curls in the back keeping it long. Within minutes his curls were completely chopped. It happened so fast I couldn’t believe it. She showed me the length of what was cut after she had already cut and asked me if it was okay. Well it was already cut at that point, so I guess it’s going to have to be. After continued cutting I interjected and said I didn’t want anymore length off and was told she needed to continue to even it out. The bad haircut is understandable and I realize it is not easy to cut the hair of a toddler who is moving around. However, when the cut was done the stylist said, “now he looks like a boy.” This comment and the several others about my son looking like a girl despite already knowing he was a boy really didn’t sit well with me, as a part of me feels like the bad haircut had less to do with miscommunication or difficulty cutting a toddlers hair and more about the stylists personal feelings about what a little boys hair should look like.

Today was the worst experience we have ever had at Cookie cutters in the 3 years I’ve been bringing my son there. The hair stylist was impersonal, didn’t listen to anything I asked for, was rude in the end when I said the front looked too short. His hair was all crooked in the back, and she blamed it on him moving too much. She cut his hair way too short and the first thing I had mentioned was we want to keep the hair long. Not what I expected this haircut to be like.

The hairdresser was on the phone texting several times. I was standing there waiting to pay and she was texting for what felt like an inappropriate amount of time.
