Overall the experience was positive. It was our son's first haircut and Reyna did everything to try to calm a hystericaltwo year old. We did have a few negatives: Reyna did not ask how we wanted the haircut to be and just started to cut, so as a result the top is a little shorter than we wanted. Hair was left all over my son's face and front of his neck. The back was cleared just fine, but the front was not. The certificate is printed on plain printer paper, when my daughter got hers, it was printed on glossy paper. This change makes it seem way less important and an experience that is marketed as a big deal seems insignificant.

Could be better about sticking to appointment times and be ready when opening time. Also, understand you are working with toddlers who may not sit completely still.

My son gets a great haircut every time but I cut his hair often and I feel maybe it should be a different rate if it’s less hair to cut

I do understand the theory behind your strict “no late” policy (allowing people to show up at most 5 minutes past the time of their appointment), but your business should also be held accountable for timely appointments. Your salon opens at 10:00, I had an 11:00 appointment and you weren’t ready for us until 11:25. I didn’t mind waiting as I danced around with my little one and played on the slide. My last 2 appointments, both at 11:00, I have also waited 15 minutes or so past my scheduled time. At the end of my appointment another customer came in 8 minutes late with a special needs child (technically 3 because of your 5 minute wiggle room) and you refused to cut her hair because you needed to remain on time for other clients. I truly can’t understand this perspective since you’re in the business of working with children, and children are indeed often unpredictable and can make getting tasks accomplished very difficult. A little grace and understanding next time towards your clients would really make all the difference, especially when you yourselves are not often on time.

We waited almost a half hour past our appointment time. Once we were taken, the haircuts themselves were fine. But it was frustrating to wait 30 min over our appt time and watch the hair dresser take her time, braid the other girl's hair, and chat with the parents, knowing she was so far behind. It made us feel like our time wasn't valued. A discount or coupon to acknowledge the inconvenience would have been appreciated. 30 min is definitely different than 5 or 10 min.
