My son has had his hair cut here many times and I never have had an issue but today, the lady who cut his hair was so slow. She was super nice but it took her 55mins to cut my 4 year old son's hair. He sat so still and did so great I was shocked at how great he did for how long it took. I also had to keep telling her to just shave the one side but she kept thinking it out to get rid of the bulk I guess even though I said just shave it. At the end she asked if I liked it and I just said yes because it had already been 55mins when it normally takes 15mins. The other lady cutting hair had finished 4 kids hair cuts in the time it took this lady to finish my son. I really hate leaving bad reviews but this just upset me today.

When I made the appointment for both of my kids, the woman that confirmed my appointment gave me the incorrect time. So I showed up early and had to wait well over my actual scheduled appointment time. I was appalled by the amount of time I had to wait since 2 of the stylists were just sitting by the receptionist talking and ignoring us. When we final got seated for the haircuts, the stylist didn't introduce herself and didn't listen to anything I said I wanted for their hair. She just cut it how she felt it should be cut. I told her to leave a little on the top because my son likes to style his hair into a Mohawk and if She could style it that way for today, he was excited for a Mohawk that day. Instead she kept cutting and then styled it how she wanted. When my other son was getting his hair done he was whining and crying alot, so I totally understand it's hard to cut children's hair but to turn his head she had her finger on his throat and pushed and yanked him and began cutting more hair off. I said "okay, he's done!!" and took him out of the chair. She started following him with clippers to cut more hair and he began screaming and crying more. His hair looked totally fine but she wouldn't leave him alone. I will NEVER go back to Cookie Cutters in Algonquin again.

Our stylist, Amanda, did a great job on my daughter’s hair. It was actually her first haircut in almost 5 years, so she saved a piece of her hair as a souvenir. We are happy with our visit and recommend Cookie Cutters hair salon.
