Our stylist rushed us and wouldn’t even pick the show for my son. She gave me the remote to rush us through. My second child was having a hard time and she didn’t offer any kind words or give him a reprieve during his haircut. I had to ask forcefully to give him a min to breathe and calm down. I paid for 2 haircuts and didn’t receive quality on either. She kept rushing us and didn’t give my kinds a second to acclimate to the environment. Why have a kids salon to cater to them who may be difficult to cut and talk nicely to them and take your time when someone is rude and rushing. We have been visiting for a few years but now we will never be back. Not worth the $50+ dollars. I had to trim both of them at home anyways.

Hack job on the hair-would’ve been better if I cut it myself. Was given a hard time for being 5 minutes late, when every hair stylist was cutting someone’s hair when we arrived.

The person that was cutting my sons hair was NOT good with children. She just threw the cape on him without explaining what shew was doing. Of course he freaked out and took it off, she just kept putting it on and never once stopped to explain what she was doing to him. She then started cutting his hair, again not explaining what she was doing, she just started doing it. He was screaming and crying the whole time and she never once stopped to explain the process/speak to him or to let me calm him down. She ended up cutting his ear a little, which I understand happens sometimes but she just handed me a tissue to stop the bleeding and kept going. He's had a few haircuts in his short 3 years and has never had an issue because each time the person was personable and great with kids. She had no warmth to her and honestly should not be working at a place specific for children. I wish I got her name but unfortunately did not. The person the appointment was scheduled with online (Amanda) was not there. We went on Friday, March 18th at 5pm and there were two women working there at the time - one blonde and one brunette. It was the brunette that cut my sons hair. I hope that helps and she can receive some proper training on how to interact with children.

We had come here for my son's first haircut and had the best service provided to us by Natali, today we came back expecting the high standards left by the awesome Natali, however that was far from what we received. I was not listened to for what I wanted done to my son's hair, when I told her I didn't like it she told me she knew what she is doing I told her I never said she didn't I simply stated I don't like it because it's not what I asked for, our service today was provided by Katie, I just bit my tongue and let her finish paid and left, I won't book her in the future will stick with Natali.

My son went in For a haircut and at the end when she finished she grab the powder brush thing to wipe off the hair but she literally dip the brush in the powder and put it on my son’s temple/eye and she posted there a couple times and then she did it the same to the other side and I was like there’s a lot of powder on his face and she said let me get a towel and I mean to me that was very rude because it got all in my sons I I was very dissatisfied with that

When I made the appointment for both of my kids, the woman that confirmed my appointment gave me the incorrect time. So I showed up early and had to wait well over my actual scheduled appointment time. I was appalled by the amount of time I had to wait since 2 of the stylists were just sitting by the receptionist talking and ignoring us. When we final got seated for the haircuts, the stylist didn't introduce herself and didn't listen to anything I said I wanted for their hair. She just cut it how she felt it should be cut. I told her to leave a little on the top because my son likes to style his hair into a Mohawk and if She could style it that way for today, he was excited for a Mohawk that day. Instead she kept cutting and then styled it how she wanted. When my other son was getting his hair done he was whining and crying alot, so I totally understand it's hard to cut children's hair but to turn his head she had her finger on his throat and pushed and yanked him and began cutting more hair off. I said "okay, he's done!!" and took him out of the chair. She started following him with clippers to cut more hair and he began screaming and crying more. His hair looked totally fine but she wouldn't leave him alone. I will NEVER go back to Cookie Cutters in Algonquin again.
