My daughter is 3...she’s always had a ton of hair so Ive trimmed it at home a couple of times. . I told our stylist it was our first time getting it cut and her response wasn’t excitement or happiness, as I was hoping it could be for my daughter. Instead she scolded me and said “it’s her first haircut? Shame on you.” I almost walked out the door but it was my daughters experience, not mine. I’m not sure why she thought she had a right to shame me, or to make me feel bad for a simple at home trim. It was completely unprofessional and frankly none of her business. Her opinion of my life should NOT have been present - especially as a professional. As parents we all get shamed enough, and I wish his could have been an experience that was more comfortable, whether my daughter was 1 or 10.
