I felt very rushed during this appointment. This is the 3rd time my toddler got a haircut. The other two times at a salon for kids in Orlando was such a positive experience. I booked Cookie Cutters because I saw great reviews and it appeared to be a toddler friendly environment. My experience was not great at Cookie Cutters. I felt like the hairstylist was very pushy and rushing. I did not feel at ease. She jumped right into the haircut before allowing me a chance to show her a picture or explain a little bit more. My son is only 2, he just turned 2 last week. I thought that the hairstylist would have taken the time to ease into the haircut as they did in the salon we previously went to. She did not. She didn’t give me a chance to distract him. He was crying and scared. I didn’t like the way she was holding his head. I didn’t like that she asked me to hold his head down to do the side burns and ears area. I felt like she was overwhelming to deal with. She kept asking questions and expecting answers immediately. I felt so uncomfortable and pressured. At one point, I mentioned to her that the stylist we went to previously had a bunch of toys that she distracted Noah with and that helped calm him and give the stylist a chance to work. She just pointed to toys on the counter and said “oh well there are toys there”. Once I did give my son the toy, he calmed down and was way more cooperative. Our stylist at Cookie Cutters seemed so annoyed and irritated the whole time. I felt so awful being there. All interactions I had with her felt so stressful because I either felt rushed or felt like she was irritated. My sons hair cut did turn out great. I have no complaints about that at all. But the experience and the interactions with the stylist was awful. I thought picking a place meant for children would mean that the stylist would have more patience dealing with my toddler and understand how stressful it can be for a toddler. I picked this place because I wanted an experience like I had in Orlando at Pigtails and Crewcuts. I am disappointed with how this appointment went.
