Now, I am not one to write negative reviews because I understand how that can impact a business. But I do need to speak out about this occasion. I’ve never been to the sawmill cookie cutters location before. I scheduled the appointment picking “any stylist” for my son due to me not knowing any of them. There was a woman that we met upon our arrival and she was sitting at the desk. I wrote my sons name down and she stood up without any introductions and asked what chair we wanted. I asked my son which one he would like to sit in, he pointed to one, we walked towards it and I picked him up and sat him in it. She walked right passed us and said “what are you thinking?”, pointing towards him. I told her the hairstyle I wanted for him. She looked at me like I was ignorant. She put on Netflix for him and she let him choose the show. Now, is where everything gets much worse. First of all, my son is autistic. He doesn’t need individual special treatment, but i would think for someone to have some general kindness towards him is at least the best they could try to do, as any parent would want their child to be treated. She started spraying water all over his hair, not trying to cover his face from it at all. Not the worst thing ever but he was visibly unhappy with it being sprayed in his face. She took the trimmers and trimmed around his ears, using clippers on the side of his head, scissors to trim down the top. But while she’s doing this, she’s pushing his head down with her hand over the top of his scalp, so he wouldn’t move his head. I offered to help hold his head so she didn’t have to be pushing his head down and she said that it was okay and she didn’t need my help. As if that wasn’t enough, she was yanking, pushing and pulling his head in all directions being VERY rough. Kept spraying water in his face while spraying his hair. I was already thinking to myself “We will never be coming back here”. I then asked “Are you going to be trimming down the sides more?” And she looked at me with her eyes squinted and said “I… wasn’t planning on it?”. And I said “I was just wondering, it’s all good!” and she looked at me and very rudely replied “If I trim the sides, it will be completely disconnected from the back. Do you want it disconnected from the back? It wouldn’t look very good” and I said “How you have done it is very cute, thank you.” She was looking at me like I was stupid. She finished up the cutting and took his cape off. Didn’t bother to put powder on his or white off any hair that was all over his ears and neck so that’s what I stood there and did for a couple minutes. I walked up to pay and she said the amount and I paid with my card. She handed over a gold coin high without saying anything and pointed to the surprise machine that you put it in. I told her thank you and we went over and got a little toy out of the machine and my son was very excited about it and I know from a different location that you also get a balloon so I asked if we could have one and she said yeah pick a color and take one so I said thank you again and I told my son to say thank you to her and he did and we left. When we got out side of the store, I asked him if he was happy with his haircut, and he said yes, and I was happy that he was happy. Thankfully, he didn’t notice the attitude she had or remember how rough she was being with him, but I was extremely upset and will never be going back there again. I thought I would let other parents know so that their kids would not be treated this way also.
